A Series of Commissions for Simon Pegg

A-list celeb Simon Pegg got in contact with me regarding a series of dog commissions for his home. He has had many beautiful dogs over the years and wanted me to capture their likeness for him. I took on the challenge and painted 3 of his dogs and he stated he may eventually want to get some more done.

I carefully painted each of them with precision, knowing they would be displayed in his home and posted online. I wanted to create some constant to show they were a series, so I picked 3 pastel colours that would be the backgrounds for each dog. I chose colours that I thought would best complement the dogs fur and colouring. Below are the finished paintings of the two Miniature Schnauzers and Cockapoo.

Once finished, I had them each framed up in the same natural wood frame with a white border as Simon wanted them to match the walls in his home. I was happy with the end results and the frames helped tie them all together, as they'd be placed in a row on the staircase in the home.

Once Simon was happy with these pieces, he commissioned 3 more dog paintings for his friends and family. I wanted the style to to follow on from the previous ones as if it were a continuation of the series. I wanted a plain background and the dogs in similar poses and similar frames to create a kind of signature look. Below are the finished paintings framed up in a dark wood. I couldn't get a photo of him with the pieces as they were christmas presents and it would've ruined the surprise.

Again, he was very happy with the results and shared them on his instagram profile. We spoke about future projects and I look forward to working for him again!
